Nicki Minaj Tweets 'Be Humble' After Taylor Swift Drops New SingleEntertainment

Nicki Minaj sparked fan speculation with one of her tweets early Friday, less than an hour after Taylor Swift released her fiery new single, “Look What You Made Me Do.”

“N—- sit down. Be humble,” Minaj wrote on Twitter.

Swift was not named in the tweet and Minaj could have been referencing to Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” Still, Twitter users immediately began replying to the tweet, questioning whether it was directed at Swift — whose new song contains lyrics that might address her feuds with Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Katy Perry.

Swift and Minaj have a long history together. In July 2015, Minaj expressed frustration with her popular video for “Anaconda” not receiving a nod for Video of the Year the MTV Video Music Awards, writing in part, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”

Though she wasn’t named in Minaj’s posts, Swift — whose “Bad Blood” clip was nominated and eventually won — replied, “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

Minaj went on to implore Swift to speak out on why the rap star wasn’t nominated, and Swift eventually tweeted an invitation for Minaj to join her onstage if she won.

The stars put the past behind them and performed together at the VMAs. But just this year, Minaj was featured on Perry’s supposed Swift diss track, “Swish Swish.” (The video for Perry’s song was released this week and features Minaj.)

Regardless of the tweet, it was a busy night for Minaj. She’s featured on two new releases: Fergie’s latest track, “You Already Know,” and Tasha Cobbs’ “I’m Getting Ready.”

“Look What Made You Do” is the first single from Swift’s upcoming sixth album, Reputation, due Nov. 10.
