Brie Larson looked worthy of a real castle Wednesday night in New York.
The Oscar-winning actress glittered in a nude, sparkling tea-length Monique Lhuillier dress at the premiere of The Glass Castle, her new film out Friday based on the best-selling memoir by Jeannette Walls.
“Brie blew me away,” Walls told USA TODAY of watching Larson, 27, depict her childhood spent squatting in homes and living in abject poverty.
The actress expertly captured “somebody who cares deeply but is trying desperately not to,” said Walls. “And she just nailed that with the eyes and the confusion and the hurt and the steeliness.”
Naomi Watts, who plays Larson’s artist mother in The Glass Castle, also made waves at the premiere in a smashing Fendi ensemble.
