Eva Longoria's best fashion advice: 'Don't follow trends'

Eva Longoria followed in the fashionable footsteps of friend Victoria Beckham on Wednesday, debuting her first New York Fashion Week collection of easy-to-wear separates, dresses and jackets.

“So many times, especially during Fashion Week, you see so many lines that are not wearable and out of reach,” said Longoria, clad in a black bomber jacket and black skinny jeans from her collection. “My line is very accessible.”

It certainly felt that way as the looks came down the runway: Floral-patterned bomber jackets, beige sweaters, breezy dresses, jumpsuits and skinny jeans galore, all priced between $29 and $129. For those feeling slightly more daring, there were a few pairs of high waisted, wide-leg pants.

And it wasn’t hard to imagine Longoria herself wearing these outfits on a weekend out.

“I love the bombers,” she said. “I live in bomber jackets — I travel all the time and I’m always cold.”

This isn’t Longoria’s first foray into fashion; she released a collection with The Limited last summer . The current line, called Eva Longoria Collection, can be purchased at evalongoria.com.

Longoria describes her style as “comfortable, feminine, beautiful” and said the best style advice she had ever been given was “not to follow trends.”

“Take a classic look and give it a modern twist,” she said. “A trend is a dangerous path.”
