Exclusive First Look: Heidi Klum's clothing line for Lidl

This German American’s got a variety of talents.

Heidi Klum is launching a new fashion line, Esmara by Heidi Klum: Heidi and the City, with German grocery chain Lidl. No, this is not exactly a Project Runway-style challenge — no produce or “unconventional materials” are involved.

The partnership, though it may sound unusual, is a splash for Lidl, which opened its first stores in the U.S. June 15 and is expanding its home good and fashion offerings. Think the reverse model of Target. And with prices ranging from $6.99 to $29.99, and a real leather jacket at around $60, it’s hard to complain.

We got a sneak peek of the pieces, which will debut during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 7 and will hit stores Sept. 21.

Klum, who already has a line of intimates and bathing suits, was inspired by her favorite city (New York, of course) when designing the collection. Hence the urban jungle vibe.

Her goal was to give women a “wow effect,” which inspired the campaign’s #letswow slogan. See more in the teaser video below.
