Futurama’s Planet Express crew is finally back with original content… for your ears.

Though the last new episode of the quirky, animated sci-fi show aired back in 2013, creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen have reunited the cult hit’s cast for a brand-new podcast of fresh content, called Radiorama. USA TODAY can exclusively premiere the very meta teaser of Radiorama  before the 42-minute-long show is available on Soundcloud and Nerdist or wherever you get podcasts on Sept. 14.

In the exclusive clip, Futurama soap opera star Calculon (Maurice LaMarche) makes a call to robot Bender (John DiMaggio) asking him to reprise his role on his show, All My Circuits , which is being released as a podcast. It’s no matter that Bender gave “the worst performance in history,” according to Jamaican bureaucrat Hermes Conrad (Phil LaMarr), because, as Calculon says, “Once you’ve established a character, the audience won’t stand for any recasting no matter how excruciatingly incompetent the actor.”

The complete Futurama podcast will also feature characters including Fry (Billy West’s ’90s pizza guy), Leela (Katey Sagal’s one-eyed ship captain), and an appropriately-meta adversary: Klaxxon (Chris Hardwick), a nefarious life form composed entirely of soundwaves from 21st-century podcasts.

Want more Futurama before then? The cast recently got together for their Worlds of Tomorrow mobile game that’s available now.
