Nielsens: In season finales, 'Power' is up, 'Twin Peaks' remains pekid

Ratings for the week ending Sept. 3, 2017.

Sunday finales. Starz’s Power powered to a season-high 2 million same-day viewers to end its fourth run, while Showtime’s Twin Peaks: The Return sputtered out with a typically low 240,000. 

Summer winds down. Summertime fun ended as NBC’s The Night Shift (3.1 million same-day viewers Thursday); TNT’s Animal Kingdom (1.4 million Tuesday); and USA’s Queen of the South (1.3 million Thursday) wrapped it up, while CBS burned off the last of its failed Candy Crush game show Saturday (1.2 million).

Gridiron action. College football returned with 12.3 million viewers for ABC’s Saturday Florida State-Alabama showdown, way up from 7.9 million last year’s USC-Alabama prime-time season opener. Thursday’s ESPN Ohio State-Indiana match-up topped the weekly cable race with 5.1 million.
