Straight Up Hollywood podcast: Brie Larson changed after Oscars

What’s life like for Brie Larson post-Oscar?

That’s the first order of business in Straight Up Hollywood this week, the USA TODAY podcast that takes you behind the scenes of your favorite TV shows and movies.

Larson sat down with West Coast Entertainment Editor Andrea Mandell (@AndreaMandell) to talk about how life has changed since she won her gold statue, the unicorn-themed movie she just directed and turning Jeannette Walls’ best-selling memoir, The Glass Castle, into a film (it’s in theaters this weekend).

Oh, and in case you somehow missed it, she’s going to be Captain Marvel.

Then, TV reporter Bill Keveney (@billkev) dishes the good stuff on Apple Music’s new Carpool Karaoke: The Series, which widens the scope from the format James Corden made famous.

Last, Andrea, Bill and entertainment reporter Carly Mallenbaum (@thatgirlcarly) chat about a few more shows you MUST pay attention to this fall, including The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. Bill got a preview of the first eight minutes and calls the Miami-set footage “gorgeous.”

Happy listening!
